These standards carry over to our suppliers, who share in our commitment to maintain the highest ethical standards.

Workplace Safety
PPL’s primary goal is to provide and maintain a work environment that promotes the health and safety of employees, suppliers, and the general public. No job is too important or so urgent that precautions, laws or regulations concerning health and safety can be bypassed. The goal is very simple: zero accidents or incidents adversely impacting employees, contractors or the public. The Company is committed to providing a safe work environment. Suppliers, as well as employees, are accountable for safe work behaviors to reduce hazards within the working environment. Suppliers are responsible for reviewing and complying with any changes to the Environmental Requirements and/or Standards published by PPL.
Health and Safety Requirements
Contractor Environmental Requirements
Contractor shall at a minimum:
a. Ensure all contractor and sub-contractor employees have proper training, certificates, permits, and/or licenses for all regulatory required environmental needs, including handling of material, wastes, equipment and response to environmental incidents.
b. Conduct all activities in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements, or approvals/permits, including any blanket or project-specific approvals/permits related to the work or job site.
c. Not allow discharges to drains and/or sewers without prior approval from PPL, and any applicable federal, state and/or local approvals/permits.
d. Provide adequate spill/release prevention for all bulk materials brought on site.
e. Immediately contact and inform the PPL representative or site environmental coordinator of any abnormal conditions, spill, releases or any other environmental incident.
f. Immediately clean-up and properly dispose of any spills or releases from any equipment or vehicles, regardless of size, in accordance with local, state and federal statutes, regulations, rules, ordinances or other laws.
g. Properly manage their chemicals/materials by providing PPL representative and/or site environmental coordinator with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and receive approval of the chemicals/materials prior to bringing them onto the job site.
h. Ensure all approved chemicals/materials are labeled and clearly marked identifying ownership and properly stored.
i. Properly label, store, and dispose of all wastes generated from their activities in accordance with all federal, state and local requirements.
j. Be sensitive to local community impacts, such as noise, odor, lights, fugitive dust, traffic movement, and any environmental justice requirements related to the work or job site.
k. Prepare and maintain records pertaining to their work in accordance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements.
l. Remove all unused chemicals, materials, and equipment from site at conclusion of work.
m. Remove all their waste and waste receptacles from site at conclusion of work.
Equal Employment Opportunity and Discrimination
All applicable equal employment opportunity and affirmative action requirements including, but not limited to, those relating to: (i) equal employment opportunity and non-segregated facilities; (ii) the utilization of minority business enterprises; (iii) Executive Order 11246, as amended and the implementing regulations at 41 CFR Part 60-1 et seq.; (iv) the Vietnam Era Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, and the implementing regulations at 41 CFR Part 60-300; (v) the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the implementing regulations at 41 CFR 60-741 and other requirements relating to the employment of veterans and disabled persons, and all amendments thereto and all regulations, rules and orders issued thereunder; and (vi) the notification requirements established by 29 CFR Section 471, including displaying the required poster found at 29 CFR Section 471 Appendix A of Part A. Moreover, these laws, regulations and orders require that covered prime contractors and subcontractors take affirmative action to employ and advance in employment individuals without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, protected veteran status or disability. Suppliers shall use best efforts to assure that Small, Small Disadvantaged and Women Owned Small Business Concerns (“SSDWOSBCs”) are given equitable opportunity to compete for PPL procurements.
Improper Influence, bribery and conflicts of Interest
PPL prohibits giving or receiving bribes of any kind. Suppliers must never offer, give any money, offers in kind, bribes or kickbacks. PPL funds shall not be used to make payments for any unlawful or improper purpose.
Fair and honest dealing in all interactions
PPL requires both employees and suppliers to deal fairly and honestly with governmental and regulatory bodies, customers, suppliers, competitors, employees and anyone else with whom you have contact in the course of performing your job. Suppliers may not take unfair advantage of anyone through manipulation, concealment, abuse of privileged information, misrepresentation of material facts or any other unfair-dealing practice. Suppliers must treat non-public information provided as confidential and safeguard it against inappropriate or unauthorized physical or electronic disclosure, acquisition or access.
Protect PPL assets and information
PPL’s assets are not limited to buildings, equipment and other physical property. PPL’s assets need to be appropriately protected physically as well as electronically. Suppliers must promptly report any suspicious activity or behaviors to ensure protection of PPL’s assets.
Approach communications and social media responsibly
Suppliers shall not issue or release any announcement, statement, press release or other publicity or marketing materials, or otherwise use PPL’s trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos, symbols or brand names without PPL’s prior written consent.
