Sprecher Transmission Project
PPL Electric UtilitiesStrengthening reliability and resiliency
The Sprecher-Pitney Project will strengthen the reliability and resiliency of Lancaster County’s electric transmission system by creating new transmission lines for delivering electricity and replacing aging infrastructure. These improvements will increase system flexibility, reduce the risk of equipment-related outages, and help ensure reliable electric service while meeting the region’s growing demand for electricity.

Why the Project is Needed
This project is designed to strengthen the reliability and resiliency of the transmission system for all customers. By creating additional pathways for electricity delivery, we’re ensuring customers have dependable service while meeting the growing demand for power in this area.
Stay Informed
We are committed to keeping landowners, municipalities, stakeholders and community members informed throughout the planning process. An informational open house will be held to provide project information and answer questions from area residents.
