Question: I received an email about an overdue bill saying I needed to make an immediate payment with a prepaid card to stop a shut-off. How can I tell if it’s real?

Answer: Great question! We always encourage our customers to slow down and verify information before taking action. Scammers sometimes pressure you to act fast.

We will never demand immediate payment with a prepaid card. And if you’re scheduled for termination, we’ll send you advanced notice so you have time to make a payment. If you’re unsure about an email or a phone call like this, don’t click on any links or provide any of your personal information. Instead, access your account directly by typing pplelectric.com into your browser to review your account status.
