Approved Meter Service Devices

The following document defines PPL Electric’s minimum requirements for self-contained service point enclosures. This consolidates all previously established requirements into one comprehensive document. Moving towards minimum requirements in lieu of a traditional approved equipment list will better allow our customers to navigate complex and costly supply chain impacts within the industry and may also present equipment options not previously found on our approved list. This may also help customers avoid lengthy timelines typically associated with review and approval of new equipment.

The following table includes equipment previously approved for use within our service territory. Use of this equipment for new projects is permitted provided that it meets minimum requirements as set forth above and meets modern electrical code requirements. Contact your electrical inspector/equipment manufacturer directly if you have questions about this equipment meeting those requirements.
